I've been using DotEasy since 2002, and it's been a constant string of database problems, bad customer service, and hidden charges. I'm in the process of moving all of my sites from DotEasy to DreamHost.

Repeatedly, I would discover that my DotEasy databases would spontaneously empty. Tons of data lost. When I complained, they just shrugged.

Their help docs are hopelessly out of date.

I'm paying for a hosting plan that includes PHP5, but they're giving me PHP4. When I complained, they said that it's their policy that longtime customers have to pay a surcharge to access new features -- even though I'm already paying for those features.

Their customer service is very unhelpful. They're not at all interested in resolving problems; only in finding new ways to tack on surcharges.

Working with DotEasy has been a pretty unpleasant experience. DreamHost, on the other hand, has been great. I'm looking forward to finally getting all of my sites moved from DotEasy to DreamHost.
